Paul Fife is a seasoned trial lawyer, who has served as trial counsel in over 20 professional liability, business litigation, construction, and personal injury trials or arbitrations.
Born in Illinois, he grew up in the Bay Area, attended the University of California, Davis (1980), and graduated from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 1984. He was admitted to the California Bar later that year and joined our predecessor firm in 1985, and became a partner in 1990.
Paul has developed substantial experience in business litigation, accountant’s liability and other professional liability defense, construction litigation, personal injury, product liability defense, transportation defense, government tort liability, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. He is also an accomplished appellate practitioner, and his appellate portfolio includes his defense judgment in a major bad faith action, Alex Robertson & Co. v. Imperial Casualty & Indemnity Co. (1992) 8 Cal. App. 4th 338, 10 Cal. Rptr. 2d 165.
Paul has also participated in loss prevention programs for the scaffold and rental industries, conducted training seminars on accountant’s liability, insurance coverage, insurance agent liability, and Litigation Management and Budgeting for insurance claims personnel. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute, and Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada.
Terence (“Terry”) Kenney is a veteran trial lawyer who has been with Fife Law and its predecessor firms for over 30 years.
Born in Virginia and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Terry graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1978 and then obtained his law degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1982. He is admitted to practice in both North Carolina (now as an inactive member) and California.
Terry has tried significant jury and non-jury cases as the sole or lead attorney, including a contribution action against a client’s other (nonparticipating) insurer in which he recovered a judgment of over $1 million for the participating insurer client, thereby reimbursing it for all of the defense and indemnity costs which it had incurred in an underlying construction accident case. Terry has handled binding AAA arbitrations with good results and he has excellent appellate and summary judgment motion skills and results.
Terry has tried at least half a dozen catastrophic injury or death cases which resulted in outright defense verdicts or favorable verdict.
Terry’s practice areas include construction, personal injury, professional liability, and insurance coverage litigation.
Enoch Wang’s practice focuses on general civil and commercial litigation. He has represented clients on a range of litigation and arbitration matters, including first and third party insurance, professional liability, employment law, intellectual property, real estate and contract disputes, construction, and actions involving allegations of tortious conduct in business and financial transactions. Enoch has a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and a J.D. from University of California College of Law, San Francisco. He is conversant in Mandarin Chinese and enjoys various sports and travel.
Katherine Fife’s practice includes business litigation, personal injury litigation, construction litigation and professional liability litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Fife worked for a civil litigation firm in San Francisco from 2008 to 2014 and a trusts and estates litigation firm from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, she was an intern with the Alameda Superior Court and the American Bar Association in Washington, D.C.
She obtained her JD from UC Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law (2007), and her BA from the University of California, Riverside (2002).
Ms. Fife is an avid swimmer and cyclist, and has competed in half-marathons as well as a triathlon.
